MC Stan and Shiv Thackeray’s names decided for Bigg Boss 16

As the launch date of Bigg Boss 16 is approaching, the makers are showing glimpses of the contestants. Colors after sharing promos featuring TV bahus Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Sumbul Tokeer on Wednesday released rapper MC Stan’s promo for the Salman Khan-hosted show.

In the promo, the rapper is seen addressing Bigg Boss as ‘Bhai’ in his usual hip-hop style. As Bigg Boss reprimands him saying that he is the boss, he says that since he is also playing the game this season, he is also like a brother to her. While MC Stan’s face has not been revealed, it is his ‘slat’ neckpiece that reveals his identity.

MC Stan, whose real name is Altaf Tadavi aka Altaf Shaikh, is a rapper from Pune. While he started as a qawwali singer at the age of 12, he was later drawn to rapping. Now based in Mumbai, he has released two albums, Insaan and Tadipar. MC Stan has always opted to keep a low profile by calling himself an ‘underground artist’. He also recently came into limelight when his ex-girlfriend accused him of thrashing him by miscreants.

Bigg Boss Marathi 2 winner Shiv Thackeray has also been selected for Bigg Boss 16. A native of Amravati, Shiv Thackeray rose to fame by participating in MTV Roadies Rising. He was part of Rannvijay’s gang. During his stint on the Mahesh Manjrekar show in 2019, Shiva also developed a close relationship with co-contestant Veena Jagtap. However, the two broke up shortly after.

Apart from these names, Bigg Boss 16 also has other confirmed celebs like Tina Dutta, Sreejita Dey, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Shalin Bhanot, Gori Nagori, Sumbul Tokir, Sajid Khan, Soundarya Sharma and Gautam Vig. Host Salman Khan also revealed Tajikistani singer Abdu Rozik as the first contestant on the show. ‘Bigg Boss 16’ will launch on October 1.
